i think i've developed an immunity.
to my deodorant.
again.
it's pretty well established that i'm a freak. but i wanted to know just how much of a freak i am.
every 6 months or so, i have to change brands of deodorant. i become convinced it's not working anymore, and i drive myself batty with paranoia that it has up and quit on me. but then i switch brands and all is well in the underarm universe. being sure is a highly underrated comfort.
i think it's time to switch again, but that dove scent was really starting to grow on me. what a shame.
this only happens to me, right?
Actually, I believe I once heard that it is possible for the body to develop immunity to deodorant. I’ve been through a couple different brands myself. Of course, I’m clinically insane, so I could be making that up. I think you can switch back after awhile though.
ReplyDeleteyep you guys are total nutzzos!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been using Nevea deodorant (for the past 10 years!! i buy it in cartons everytime i go to europe) -- i did hear about such effects for a champoo... but once again i've been using pantene for the past decade and i remember getting angry when they slightly modified their line. yep you guys are crazzies!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure I need to switch brands after a period of time. It's the most uncomfortable feeling...
ReplyDeleteoh, yeah cadiz... you can surely claim to be a freak here on the blog but i will reveal that anyone that knows you in person can say that you are a SUPER SEXY GORGEOUS GODESS!!!! so nothing you do can EVER be freaky!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou too ANDY!?? NOOOOO don't "yes" those people!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I thought it was just me. Glad to know this happens to others. Sane or not.
ReplyDeleteyou're not alone! i think my deoderant stopped working recently too!!!
ReplyDeleteINCONCEIVABLE! hee hee. (gotta love Princess Bride) Nah, but for real, I totally have done that. Had to switch up brands. Maybe it's like shampoo, ya need to have a little variety to get the most results?
ReplyDeletephew. you guys make me feel better. come to think of it, i think my garnier fructis is wearing off, too. oh man. time to hit the drugstore and start sniffing bottles.
ReplyDeleteYou ever leave the house and forget to wear deodorant your not sweaty until you ask youself, "did I foget to wear deodorant?" then the sweating begins. that happened to me the other day lol
ReplyDeletethat TOTALLY happens to me. i would have been just fine if i just hadn't have thought of it! but for such occasions, i keep a travel size in the glove compartment.
