i have a little extra time these days, so i'm trying out a little something new. this photo was taken last summer about four blocks from where i grew up, even though it's nowhere NEAR classified as "rural." it's actually a lot surrounded by a Walgreens, a pretty major road and a college football stadium, and for years area residents and lawmakers have been fighting about developers trying to build a Meijer Superstore there.
in no way am i saying it's a picture of "hell." on the contrary, it's a tiny glimpse of how things used to look in the rose-colored memories of my youth.
I love it! Nice choice.
ReplyDeleteSo you're saying... it's not a cornfield?
ReplyDeletewaw YOU took the picture, its awesome!
ReplyDeleteoh and YES it is rural there! :)))) and yes it was very rural... one of the saddest moments was driving by bndctne univ and seeing how they built those modern buildings covering up the old fashioned ones that looked like a castle...
Its wand-erful. I love it, really. Freshens up the place. Maybe its representative of the fresh air you breathed post dungeon.
ReplyDeletethanks, guys. yes, it's a cornfield, jam. if you can call a lot the size of a supertarget a field. it's sad when all the stuff you remember as a kid starts to disappear. sorry ale, but i think all that big-city living in nyc has addled your brain-- we went to high school in suburbia, not on a farm.
ReplyDeletesyar. you may be right, that was a beautiful day and really a breath of fresh air. sigh. i wish it gets sunny again soon.
By the way, I do love the new look!
