what sucks about being a story collector

is having to throw a good one back.

Despite asking permission before posting, changing all identifiers that didn't destroy the story and purposely making the item extremely hard to stumble upon via google, I've removed "The ballad of Craigslist's 'Missed Connections,' " because my friend is having second thoughts about it being out there.

For those of you who missed it, I apologize. There's nothing more irritating than a post that goes up and then suddenly disappears. Here's the gist: Basically, a person that I may or may not know was sitting in an undisclosed location and made eye contact with someone very attractive. A post on Craigslist and a few e-mails later, they may or may not be talking on the phone/meeting up/destined for each other.

Sweet story; I'm sad to let it go.

  1. I saw the post, but didn't get a chance to comment. Glad I caught it before it got yanked!

It's probably best that you didn't mention the nudie picture in the post, so that people who didn't get to see it don't get upset that they missed it.

  4. I read it. I don't know if I commented, but I'm glad I caught it. Phew. I understand how your friend feels, but I'm on your side on this. I have no interesting stories, so I depend on the exciting lives of others as my blog's livelihood.

    There will be others.

  5. Maybe next time, you can be a little more liberal with your changes to the story. Like instead of meeting at a coffee shop, they can meet at a minor league badminton game. And instead of locking eyes, they can mistakenly pick up each others nachos... And instead of reading about it later on missed connections, they can read about it in a letter to the editor of their favorite minor league badminton team's newsletter... But you should still leave in the nudie picture and the fact that they were studying for a test, otherwise, the story is just ridiculous.
