Some of you are aware that I've been working a lot lately. That's probably an understatement: For the last few weeks it has been 9-10 hours in the office with plenty of files to take home and finish before going in again the next morning. Plus weekends and all-nighters. But the last deadline has come and gone, and I'm sort of stunned at the oodles of time I now have to do things like holiday shopping, catching up on blogs and actually sleeping through the night instead of naps.
I'm not advocating the throwing of health and wellness out the door for work (it's not for everyone); but that extra cash gives me a tiny window of financial security during which I can hopefully find a job.
it'll pick up again, it always does. in the meantime, rest up and enjoy your down time...
ReplyDeleteI'd volunteer to work crazy hours for money at this point, but I think I've gone too soft to be able to take it. Congrats to you for making it out alive!
ReplyDeleteYou're gonna have to make up your mind:
ReplyDeletePanic because you are too busy or panic because there is nothing to do.
You can't do both.
I hear there just may be a job opening in the governor's office soon. Perhaps you should throw your hat in the ring. I bet you wouldnt sell your blog to the highest bidder!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, you obviously have never had to deal with a volatile work environment where you have to do seemingly impossible tasks--and not just well, but exceedingly so--just to make a client happy so that you aren't replaced on a whim. Congrats to you for not having to worry about a job during such a hard economic time, it must be nice. Cadiz, if there's any time when it's good to be less busy, it's the holidays. Try to enjoy the time with your family.
ReplyDeleteFar be it from me to tell you what to do with your life, but if you get an iPhone, I guarantee you'll be plenty busy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure things will pick up soon enough and you'll wish you had a few moments to yourself again.
Check it out, my iPhone can do ümlouts. Ok, I may have misspelled umlout, but I got the "ü" right!
