cut to the chase, people

Ever notice that when someone opens a conversation with, "Hey, you got a minute?" they don't really care whether you actually have a minute?

I hate it when I answer, "yes, but just one," and they think I'm joking. So then I cut them off at the 61st second and I look like the rude one. RESPECT MY TIME, someone!

What happens if you say "yes" and then walk away? I mean, you answered their question, right?

I might try that sometime.

It's true. Maybe just once, I will say, "No, not for you!" I wonder what the response would be. :)

Those are the kind of people that take the last cupcake, even though they've already had three...

I've been known to answer "yes, plenty of minutes actually, though I'm not waisting them on you" on several occasions.
Most times my answer is "no" however, which is generally true and a lot faster to say...

Very true. I doubt they give it a single thought.
