bees and dogs can smell fear

Without going into the messy details, let's say that there once were some people who got overlooked in favor of something bright and shiny that turned out to be a big fat letdown at the end of the day. You know, kind of like how Cuba Gooding, Jr.'s character in Jerry Maguire was overlooked by his agent in favor of that guy (not Uncle Jesse) who married Rebecca Romijn. And let's say the agent never came to his senses in this particular scenario, so one of the people got fed up, took a stand and pulled a Jerry Maguire "Who's with me?" speech.

Well, I'm one of the ones who went with. And now I'm starting a new job and hoping for the best. It's not going to be easy, but I believe it was the right thing to do.

However, me and my eight-pound human head are still a little scared about it.

Starting a new job is always tough, but YOU ROCK! So it will be no big. And congrats on making a hard choice - may it pay off for you. (And not just in a Show! Me! The MONEY! way.)

I did this 3 months ago and although it is a big jump, at least you're challenging yourself and stepping out of what is comfortable. You won't look back and have regrets that you didn't take chances! I love the lines from Jerry Maguire, what a perfect way to describe it!

Good luck with the new job - I know you can do this! Change is good. Keep us posted so I can use you for inspiration if I ever get the courage to switch tracks.

If it's something you believe in then I'm sure it was the right decision. Sometimes the bigger the risk, the bigger the pay off. We're all rooting for you!

Um, I didn't understand that whole first paragraph (I haven't watched Jerry Maguire in ages), but I trust it was witty and awesome and insightful because it's you and you are all those things.

Good luck on the new job. We all know you're gonna rock it!

Good luck with the new job, but does this mean you're not moving to NY?

I am going to have to give the "Show me the money" speach in my renegotiation in February... It's going to be fun.

I should make my boss say; "I love the black man..."

I don't care if I am the whitest guy I know. It would be funny.

It's fun to do things that aren't safe every once in awhile, isn't it?
