digging out

*I*T'*S* *S*N*O*W*I*N*G*!

i've always said that i need to be in a place that showcases all the seasons. and despite the fact that i had to dig my car out from under a foot and a half of snow this evening -- even after trying to park under a bridge -- and drive home on the highway at 30 m.p.h., hydroplaning once and afraid of being sideswiped by an errant SUV, i still think it's damn pretty.

but ask me again in March.

I'm kind of a snow-hater. I always have been. But deep down, I'm kind of excited for the day my kid can go out and play in it. So I hold off on moving south for the winters.

My aunt, when she was in New York for a while, saw snow for the first time. She ran out hollering, 'Snow, snow', and made a snow angel.

Friend of mine, he was studying in Russia, was washing socks the first time he saw snow. He dropped everything ran out hollering, 'Snow, Snow.'

Was it the snow or are they just mad?

Here it's sunny and warm. It's December and it's sunny and warm!!! This is wrong.
I mean, I know we don't have snow around these parts, but at least it should be could and rainy.

The snow is always pretty. Make a cup of tea and take it all in.

And shoveling is great exercise.

Buy a sled now.

I've come to like snow in the past couple years. I'm not sure why. I guess I like the sounds it makes, and the peaceful way that if falls...

But I hate walking on sheets of ice the next day!
