That *does* make me sad. No more telegrams? Like, ever?

I think I should rush to the local post office here and see if they still offer that.

I find it in no way sad at all.

Nobody's lamenting outhouses, 8 tracks, and VHS tapes are they?

Bring on the future. (OK, now that I think about it, it is interesting to know that I have never recieved, and now can never receive a telegram.)

I've sent and received telegrams and that was not so long ago! It was when I was a student in Jamaica, during the bad days when Guyana was run under dictatorship.

I know how you feel, I felt that way too. Old ways of communicating, gone. I love changes but they also make me feel a bit sad.

It is very sad isn't it? I haven't sent or received a telegram either, but they seem so cool!

Back in the old days, a telegram was scary because it usually brought bad news.

A very sad thing that both these things are now gone.

At least you can still send and receive a Candygram.

I imagine it will be very weird in the fairly distant future to walk into a museum and see all the things we once used on a regular basis as display items. Progress is a strange thing.

even though people are transitioning to reading newspapers on their mobile devices there's still not enough elbow room on the NYC subway!

i'm ok with newspapers going digital, i dont like to throw away paper. however i will be mad if magazines go only digital, i like to touch glossy pictures

telegrams no need- we have email and SMS

another great "futuristic" consept is mobile office! yes, maybe we won't see our co-workers face to face on a daily basis, but that's OK! CUS i'll be doing my work on the Beach face to face with beautiful people tanning, surfing and drinking coco water!!!!

yeah, yeah, you guys know that i like learning new stuff, but really, i'm sentimental and nostalgic.

one time i was reading the paper and they had a picture of these 8-year-olds learning about nature by photographing different plants, etc. the quote from one of them was something to the effect of, "it was cool. we got to use those really OLD cameras. you know, the ones that have film in them."

made me feel really old. geez, that wasn't THAT long ago, was it?
