different day, sentiment the same

"Did you hear that the power is out in New York?"

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah, Highcon's office is on backup power and they've shut down the subways."

"Ugh, they finally do something right, BUT ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE COUNTRY! I could have used a break from work today."

"Well, maybe you can hope for a brownout or something."

I completely forgot you're in New York. I'll be within 45 minutes in about two months. We have to hang out.

I live in California, where we have been promised rolling blackouts. I have been very disappointed so far. Not one has hit us yet. It's all just a big scam to get us excited about going into work with the possibility that the power might go out. We should have laws against that kind of false advertising.

Yeah, that happened. But it happened on the East Side, where the rich people live, which means it got fixed pretty quickly. Which is not true when it happens in certain other neighborhoods.
