your baby with the bathwater

"hey, i'm going to throw all of these out. they're so raggedy."

"fine. but not those-- i can wear them when i'm working in the yard."

"i can't believe you're actually letting me throw something away for once."

"yeah, ha ha, why don't you just throw me out while you're at it?

"sure, someday."

I think that’s my problem when it comes to throwing things away. I always think there’s still some use for them, even though I don’t really need those things that often… then I just wind up with entirely too much stuff. But I’ll be damned if I’m not prepared for everything!

Nothing's too old for me, I keep 'em all in the great hope that one day I will create the most wonderful work of art with all the junk I've saved. I should just throw out that old hope, that's what I should do.

I'd like to know what the next line in that conversation was.

I'm the world's worst hoarder. In that I'll horde everything.

But it's down to sentimental value...

the next line was a giggle from the only person to hear both sides of the conversation entirely.

which was myself.
