even the fake green grass looks rotten

sometimes when people try and support you, they inadvertently make you feel like a pile of day old sushi--with the rice all crunchy and dry and the fish all stinking and slimy. it's best to throw it out at once, crispy ginger slices, blackened wasabi and all. they don't mean to do it; they're coming from a place of love. but the incessant berating meant to kickstart you into shape just cranks up the volume on the chorus of your shortcomings playing twentyfour hours a day in your head and keeping you up at night. it happens.

once in awhile it's nice to hear someone say, "how are you today?" and leave it at whatever you choose to answer.

DAY OLD SUSHI...

Thank God I had Japanese for lunch and not dinner. That was gross.

I know what you mean though. Sometimes people saying nothing at all is the best plan.

personally i dont like it when my friends ask me "how are you today" knowing very well what is going on. i like direct questions.

but yes i agree, sometimes forcefull advice could make you feel like day old sushi... thouh i'm the type of person that does this, i like to solve issues and make them disappear--- dam now i'm feeling like some sushi... anyway...

dont listen to nobody- :)

I often get in moods to be productive and do stuff, then someone tells me that I need to be doing the thing that I was intending on doing anyway, and in some sort of inexplicable rebellion against production, I refuse to do what they told me I should and what I had planned on doing anyway. I can’t even begin to understand it, but that’s just how I am. I will acknowledge that it makes no sense whatsoever, but I continue to be like that…

Oh Cadiz, I am so with you on this post. I know exactly how that feels. It's not good at all. I hope it gets better. Remember (and I really need to take my own advice) that what people tell you is their opinion and they are usually wrong. Only you know you. Better????

I generally answer "How are you today" with "Alive." Short, sweet, and to the point. Also, inarguable.

Sorry you're (that could be are, but I'm hoping it's were) feeling that way. Life can be that way. Sometimes too much sweetness can be sickening.

thanks guys. i think i'm putting a lot of pressure on myself, so then when other people pile on top of that, it tends to push me to a breaking point. i'm sure it'll all work out soon.
