irony

i'm sitting at the dungeon, waiting for reports and reading the paper.

there's a story about how officials are struggling to decide just how people in post-Katrina morgues actually died. there's a photo with it, of a pink list of names of the deceased. it's taken from below and the biggest, most in-focus name is at the bottom.

It's "Deadman Jr., William"

Oh man, 'They' [whoever 'they' were]...were right when 'they' said choose the names of your children carefully!

I saw something similar on another blog, the tomb of a guy called 'John B. Dead.'

I employ a shy waitress who's training to be an Embalmer...
Most distressing although it might get her of her skin.

Not to sound insensitive, but I bet he got a lot of "deadman walking" jokes. His dad too, probably.

how some parents are so 'creative' when naming their kids :D

do you know that the first restaurant i went to eat at after the storm, my waitress was named Katrina?

isn't it crazy that we look at people in terms of numbers? i mean, look at the iraq war, all people want to know is how many have died. same with katrina, people want to know how many have died. how about looking at the names like William Deadman. There's one for the papers.

And he's a Jr.!!!! That means his dad is Bill Deadman! WTF! How could you not see it comin'?

ok, this is kinda in the same tone, but I saw some bodies from the tsunami on some website I'm trying to repress.

Alot of the t-shirt slogans were ironic. Thinks like 'surf', 'do you want me wet?' (for female/wet-tshirt competitions), and other slogans that
were absurdly, and sadly ironic.
