no such thing as napping

the worst lie you can possibly tell yourself:

'if i just lie down for ten minutes, i'll be rested enough to focus. no, i don't need to set an alarm. i'll wake up, no problem.'

Nah, my worst:

"I'll read my study notes lying down on the bed. My back hurts from sitting up so much and it is a little cold, so a blanket will be nice. I won't fall asleep".

Or, maybe:

"This is my last chocolate for the day".

yes, usually what follows is a day in deep slumber with NOTHING that would wake you up---

i hate that-

Wake up and tag kiddo, some evil, wicked, dastadly mosquito has tagged you at http://sapodilla.blogspot.com

I had a co-worker who used to crawl under my desk [I had the biggest space] and NAP.

The boss once answered my phone. The call was for the napper. The boss said, 'No, you can't speak to her, she's napping.'

Oh yeah, telling yourself that is the best way to sleep through the entire day.

if you just leave out the "i don't need an alarm", it might not be lying. the truth is that if it's really just for ten minutes, and i HAVE to be up, i probably won't really fall asleep.

i think jen's is mine too - the "i'll study in bed" one. or the "I'll sleep now and wake up early tomorrow to finish studying." that one doesn't work even with an alarm.

One day there will be no more alarm clocks in my life.
Then I will be truly happy.
Just hope that day comes before I die...

i did the whole Seinfeld thing where i wrote down excuses on a notepad and when i'm late for work, i just run down the notepad and pick an excuse.

besides, napping rules. i think we should adopt a "Siesta Rule" like they have in Spain along with incorporating the "American Afternoon Nap" as part of the Siesta.

How often i have fallen in this trap....and then the grogginess sets in and the laziness and the "Oh, I didn't really need to go anyway"....

All you need to do is have kids. I haven't used my alarm clock in months. And kids don't have a snooze button. You WILL get up.

*nods fervently* the worst is when your alarm does wake you up and you convince yourself that you'll sleep "lightly" for five more minutes and wake up "more refreshed". and seeing as you'll sleep "lightly" there's no need to set the alarm for five extra minutes. no need at..ZZZZZZzzZZZzz

I also have to say that I was supremely intrigued by what you said about my name over at jon's. so intrigued that I had to comment about it twice at jon's and once here. hope you don't mind.
